There is the story of a boy, in a bit of a "Huck Finn" context, being asked what faith is. He replies "saying you believe what you know ain't true!" Many may be able to identify!
A man dying for our sins as an innocent sacrifice, then rising bodily from the dead, guaranteeing his divine person and our eternal life. Can we believe that? Can we count on it? We know the disciples had a hard time with the resurrection, too. Thomas famously said "...I will not believe!"
But cannot the God who made our DNA, and who made the atoms that you and I consist of also transform them, renew them, and resurrect life once again? Why not?
How do we know that he did? By good testimony, just as we determine the good of many things about life. The disciples and 500 others saw the empty tomb, and the risen Jesus, too. They touched him, ate with him, talked with him. He passed all the tests! Plus, they themselves were changed forever by the experience, made bold, never to doubt again.
And Jesus still changes people forever! We truly have good news to tell! And did you know that:
Easter Sunday is the day when more people attend church
than any other day of the year!
Which means it's the day when there is the least resistance to worship by those who don't usually do so! Someone you know needs good news! Please tell them they can find it, and where!
Please join us and bring a friendat this most triumphant time of the year.
In Him,
Marc S. McGrath, Pastor
